Hi there!

We are balbek bureau, the initiative architectural group behind the RE:Ukraine temporary housing system. Our team is currently working on a pilot project for 15 families, but we are in need of financial support.

ABOUT PILOT PROJECT

1. Real model

A pilot project is required to showcase a model residential section, test the pace of construction, experiment with several construction technologies, and measure assemble and disassemble cycles.

2. Analysis

The trial project will allow us to get honest feedback from the people we initially created RE:Ukraine Housing for. Our team will be analyzing how residents interact with both each other and the space and optimizing the project considering their comments.

3. Experiment

The pilot will also help us test different construction technologies and find the best option in terms of time, labor costs, and energy efficiency.

RE:Ukraine Housing is a temporary housing system for internally displaced persons. The goal of the project is to maintain a dignified lifestyle for people who have been forced to leave their homes.

The system is designed to be implemented in a short timeframe: residents can move into the town in 3 months from the beginning of construction. The ‘constructor’ system is easy to adapt to different types of terrain, site shapes, and settlement density.

WHY SUPPORT THE TEAM

To date, 24 people are involved in the project, and our team is constantly growing. Since time plays against us and the demand for temporary housing grows every day, we have been working seven days a week since March 10th.

During the first month since the start of the RE:Ukraine project, the team's work was funded by balbek bureau. However, now almost all commercial projects of the bureau are on pause due to the Russian war against Ukraine.

Since May, we have been working on the RE:Ukraine Housing pilot project for 15 families and have already selected a land plot in Bucha district. But to complete the next steps (finalizing working drawings, getting approval from the state expertise, etc.), the team needs financial support.

The funds raised via the links below will go exclusively towards the work of architects, managers, and other team members involved in the RE: Ukraine project. If you are interested in making a financial contribution to sponsor the pilot construction, please fill in the following form.
